The undergraduate program in Psychology provides basic knowledge of Psychology to the student. It enables them to understand the application of the subject matter to real world scenarios. Emerging fields in Psychology are introduced to the students through courses like Criminal Psychology and Sports Psychology. The department also offers unique courses like Emotional Development, Interpersonal Relationships, Biological Basis of Behaviour, Psychology of Adulthood and Gerontology. Practical knowledge is imparted through the use of tests and experiments. The Project course at the third year of study gives an opportunity to students to research topics of their interests. Students also gain valuable life-work experience through the internships that they undergo.
To get admission to the undergraduate program in Psychology in Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Autonomous, applicants must fulfil the following criteria:
* For students from the Arts stream, it is mandatory to have studied Psychology in the higher secondary.
* For students from the Science stream, if Psychology was not offered, the student must obtain above 60 marks in Biology and English in the higher secondary.Having fulfilled these criteria, an applicant is eligible for the program. However, admission to the same is based on merit.
